Day 07
Today’s passage
John 4:1-26
Experience
Can you think of a time when someone you normally don’t speak to came up to you unexpectedly? Maybe you’re not really popular, and one of the cheerleaders walked up to you and told you she liked your haircut. Or maybe it’s the other way around—you’re a popular kid and at lunch one day, one of the math nerds approached you to invite you to a birthday party. It tends to throw us off when something unusual happens between us and people we don’t really know… or like.
For a Jew, going to Samaria was even worse than walking up to the cheerleader’s lunch table. In fact, the Jews would usually walk around Samaria. Of course, Jesus didn’t hesitate to go right through it. He even stopped at a well where a Samaritan woman was drawing water. She was shocked that Jesus would even talk to her!
Jesus started with a simple request, but then took a seemingly meaningless conversation and turned it into a chance to offer forgiveness and eternal life to that Samaritan woman. But, go figure, she tried to change the subject! Obviously, she didn’t know who Jesus was and what He meant by offering Living Water. But Jesus knew all about her—He is God, after all. He gently shared the truth with her, and eventually she believed.
At times it’s tough to share truth. Yet Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. A doctor is never “too afraid” to share with you what treatment you need to cure an illness. Just think how much more important it is to share eternal life with someone. What could happen if you stepped out in faith? What could happen if you lived you life with eyes open to God’s opportunities?
Wanna see a video?

This is one of my favorite stories from the Bible. I love how Jesus just came up to this women and made her believe. He didn’t force her to, he gently gave her the Truth!!
I think everybody doesen’t like to meet new people, but we always need to try something new if i didn’t try someting new i would still be eating habachi instead of sushi. i love sushi!! but any way we need friends. you shoud help your friends i was seth lomasins first friend when he was i third grade and i helped him get popular.
Somebody broke the video :.(
I think this is very true, this happened to me last year. It was my very first year at school in Davidson County, didn’t really know anyone and I walked into my homeroom and didn’t know anyone. So one of the girls that I played volleyball with, didn’t know her that well, kind of walked up to me and asked if she could sit with me and so we became really good friends. Now we talk almost everyday.
This is like reality because it just doesn’t happen God makes it happen to make you feel like you can do anything through him with his help! God is an amazing person and can do anything to help you!
This was a really good lesson. It gives me the strength to go up to someone i have no clue who they are and give them a compliment or help them with something that they need help with, just like Jesus did with the Samaritan women.
Somebody fixed it…;o)
So proud of both of you…and y’know, isn’t it crazy how those little things REALLY matter?
I sometimes think we make “sharing your faith” this big, intimidating presentation that we’re supposed to walk up, start talking about God and next thing ya know, expect that person/group to get baptized the next day.
That’s DEFINITELY how I WISH it would happen, but more often, it seems like the little steps of simply introducing ourselves or making friends are what open the doors to a change later.
What do you think?
I think that a lot of the popular people dont like “the math nerds” because they jump to conlusions. Sort of like”I think he’s ugly” or ” I dont like the way she dresses”. They never get to know those unpopular kids because they judge them on the outside. If you get to meet them actually, most of them are probabaly really cool. You may get nervous at first but the other person probably wouldnt care.
this one was good

Awesome video! Really sums it up.
