Day 16
Today’s passage
Luke 9:10-17
Experience
We know Jesus cares about our needs, but He wants us to meet the needs of others. When Jesus and His disciples were faced with the difficult task of feeding a crowd of people, Jesus told the disciples something very interesting. He said, “You go feed them.” The disciples were shocked. Can’t you just hear them stammering, “Us? We have only a few fish and a little bread. Who has any money on them? I can’t buy food for these people!” I believe Jesus smiled at this moment because He was about to remind them of who He is.
God often lets us exhaust our attempts to meet our own needs. He reminds us that only He can really fulfill our lives. The disciples were inadequate – and so are we. We need to depend totally on God for all things – not just the things we believe we can’t handle ourselves.
When the disciples couldn’t solve the problem, Jesus stepped in and something amazing happened. All of the people were satisfied. Not some, not most, but all were satisfied. When we attempt to meet our own needs or the needs of others without doing it God’s way, it never seems to satisfy for very long. Yet when we admit we’re inadequate, trust Jesus, and obey God’s directions in His Word, it brings a satisfaction that can last through difficult times.
But there’s still more! Not only was everyone satisfied, but they also had an abundance of food left over – even more food than they started with. That’s God. Trust Him to meet your needs, and He’ll do more than you can imagine.

Meeting other people’s needs is hard for me. Like all my friends at school want me to do this, but then go do this for THEM!! I can’t always meet there needs so it makes me feel bad when i don’t meeet them. So, everyday I try and try to meet there needs, but it doesn’t always work. I have NO IDEA how God does it!! It’s crazy
)
God is asking us to share anything. Even if its hard.
im kinda confused…
I wouldnt say we are completly inadequate…and we need to depend on god for evry single thing?
I mean i depend on god for alot of things…but i also am able to take things into my own hands too.
Wow! this hit home. I really get what this devotion is trying to say. I think paragraph 2 says everything i’ve been needing to hear. Whoa.
Hmmmm wonder what that looked like, pull off a peice and it grows back. Pretty Amazing
God had done a lot for me this year. He has helped me get through so much and if you need any help you can just trust HM and he will help you with whatever you need.
I always enjoyed the stories about the miracles Jesus performed
that video was AMAZING!! It kind of put everything into perspective.
