Cincinnati [Day 3]

So today  some of us stayed at the church and helped with the day camp. We all got partnered up with the camp kids. My buddy’s name is Madison. She is five years old, with short brown hair, and at first was very shy. I met her on the first day of our trip and I was so stoked to spend most of the day with her. At worship time, her little curious eyes looked up at me and asked, “Does Jesus have a daughter?,” inspecting the church’s stained glass window with one girl in it. I looked back and smiled saying, ” Yes he does; you are one of them and everyone is one of God’s children.”

This seemingly quiet child became very rowdy when we went outside to play. She ran around the playground while I kept telling her to not get on the swings or do not put the drinking water on your legs. Then we went to a group named Sacred Conversation where all the kids pretty much went wild. My little sweetie decided not to sit up and most of the time I was sitting her up or begging her to set up. We get to do this all over again tomorrow but this tiny little cutie has left more than a two-day impact on my life. She has made me a more patient person by testing my patience. She has shown me how much I truly have, because she has very little. She has shown  me how not to judge while asking questions. She has showed me how to love while misbehaving. She has showed me how to react while standing quietly. This girl of only five years old has left a footprint on my heart that can never be erased.
