One last thing…this is a SERIOUS event (ok, not really). But we know how much you’ve grown over the past 3 years, so we wanna celebrate how “grow’d up” you are by requesting FORMAL ATTIRE.

Hey everyone! Sorry we weren’t able to get anything posted last night; we didn’t have WiFi at our motel in Grayson, KY. BUT we arrived back to NC safely around 2:30 this afternoon, and everyone is home and resting in their air-conditioned houses

Even though we’re home, the blogs and video posts won’t stop! So stay tuned for goofy extras, trip recaps, and special extras in the next week!

This week has been awesome. The kids are great….well some of them! I had about 3 girls assigned as my buddies. Their names are Jamaica, Demitria, and Vanessa!! So sweet but they have A LOT of energy. Mad Gab was super fun also (Note from Katie: Check out our Vimeo account to see videos). But I think the most entertaining and precious thing ever was watching the little kids doing the motions to the songs we taught them. We taught them “Superhero”, “Every move I make”, “So Much”, and “Romans 16:19:!!!! So cute! Well tomorrow’s gonna be fun with Kings Island and such!!! CYA!!! <3

Hey folks! From your reactions via Facebook, text messages, and blog comments, I’m pleased to see that you are both looking at and enjoying our updates. I wish we could have every students blog everyday, but unfortunately, that would take too long, and they wouldn’t want to do it anyway. BUT I am incredibly grateful for the ones that are sharing their thoughts.

Besides our daily break-downs and anecdotes, we’d love to share with you anything you may want to know. So feel free to post questions or comments about the area, how everyone is reacting to the extreme poverty that surrounds us, the challenges of getting all 27 of us to shower before midnight, or anything else you may want to know. And above all, thank you for your prayers and for sharing this experience with us!

HEY GUYS!!! My name is Josh Pollard; this is the end of the second day of the Cinicinnati trip. It’s been soo much fun!! Yesterday we DEMOLISHED Mrs. Tingle’s back garage!! I was expecting to show up at the house to an already unassembled garage but I walked up the driveway to see (leader) Aaron (Murrell) standing there with a huge sledgehammer pretty much standing in a hardcore manly stance! I was like they’re really gonna trust us with big tools! I was quite flabergasted. It started off a bit boring but after we cleaned the garage we pulled out the hardhats and hammers! The EPIC DESTRUCTION is about to start! Smashing windows, tearing down walls! We got about two walls down and then the next two did not want to come down! In the process of the destruction of this we broke the sledgehammer! Hahaha that was great! Today we loaded the dump truck with all the unfortunate pieces of wood that was torn and broken! That was probably the most tiring job so far!

Well today Caleb (Smith) challenged (leader) Joey (Murrell) to a “photography off.” The rules are only three photos are put into the competition and it has to be taken with their mobile phones. Nathan (Glatus) and I are basically Canada in this fight! (We are on both sides and tend not to fight).  The winner will be announced on Saturday. So far both Joey and Caleb have epic hardcore band photos of Nathan (Glatus), Aaron (Murrell), Alec (Fortune), Carson (Lay) and I! well right now I’m pretty tired; the guys excluding Alec just had a epic nerf war. We went to Wal-mart and bought some nerf guns and bullets and we recorded some awesome western-style movies with our nerf supply. I am so tired, I think I might go to bed soon! GOODNIGHT!!!!

It’s the end of Day 1 in the good ol’ city of Cincinnati. Some of you are reading this as leaders, some are parents, other are students. But the truth is, a lot of you want to know how we are and how our week is going, regardless of our relationship. Because of that, I wanted to make you aware of the different ways we’ll be updating (besides Facebook posts!). First of all, pay close attention to the PSM website. We’ll be posting our thoughts and recaps of each day on the blog page, and we’ll post videos on the homepage. We’re so excited we can share these things with you…thank you so much for your prayers and support. We are excited to see what we learn about the kingdom of God this week, and we are enjoying doing it as a community. Stay tuned to hear all about our adventures!

Due to a short supply of shoes (thus far), PSM has to cancel our IMPACT activities tomorrow morning.

We HATE to miss out on an opportunity to serve together, but will resume next Tuesday when Shoes for Orphan Souls drop off  the collected shoes from all the Triad bookstores/WBFJ.
However, I want to encourage you to remember that WE ARE IMPACTING BOTH CINCINNATI AND JAMAICA THIS WEEK, with over 35 students building, painting, singing, loving and looking like Christ to those in need.
Take tomorrow to pray for them, to learn about each community and, well…make plans to join them next year!
