Hey guys! Are you as excited to start the InsideOut devotions as we are??
I hope so! If you haven’t heard about it yet, it’s a 40-day, everyday devotion… each one written especially for you students.
(The adults and kids are doing their own, too.)
This year our theme is about Jesus- His life, His death and resurrection, and what Scripture tells us about His ministry and teachings. Not only that, but the devotions are written to help you understand how that all applies to your lives.
There’s also cool extras, videos, and sound clips to help make the life of Christ more real…all at www.pinedalestudents.org!

So…if you haven’t already, sign up to receive our mailings by going to the top of the screen and scroll over “Extras,” then click on “Sign Up.” While you’re at it, sign up for our text blasts too (so you’ll never forget to do your InsideOut XP each day)!

You’ve heard it before. That one student who goes on a mission trip/youth group retreat/conference and makes a declaration to change the world. Sometimes it happens. But too often, after a few months, that same student is indistinguishable from the crowd. They were so caught up in the emotion of the moment and were ready to do something big.
Sound familiar? (Maybe too familiar?)

We all want to do something BIG for God, but following Christ is more about the small steps we make every day, steps of obedience, steps in relationship with Him. I mean, we’ve all made resolutions and set goals, but too often we fall short of what we expected to accomplish. Unfortunately it’s often the same when we try to become the Christian we really believe God has called us to be.

How many times do we fall short of the goal and become increasingly discouraged?

We’ve called this series ForwardMotion because the Christian life is more about the steps we take, not the giant leaps.
In this series, we want you to learn that following Jesus is more about the small steps we make every day, not about the huge leaps of faith that we think we need to make.
We want to set goals, but more importantly, take time to determine the first step and then make it.
And at the end of the month, the series will end with a celebration like you’ve never seen in StudentLIFE!

Due to the nasty weather and slushy road conditions, PSM has to cancel our trip to Winter Jam on Saturday. As far as we know, the concert is still on, so please be careful if you choose to go with your parents or friends. We love you and we’ll see you Sunday at StudentLIFE!

Just in case you were wondering, there will only be ONE Service tomorrow @ 11 a.m.
RE:mix is also cancelled due to the “WinterStorm 2010″.

Just a quick reminder that we kickoff 2010 Wed. night with an EXTREMELY IMPORTANT Youth Leader Meeting @ 6:30 p.m. (in Room 207).

There we’ll give you a preview of the next semester’s lessons, activities and plans. I can honestly say we’ve never had so much to share and are anxious to get you involved…and pray you are too!

We can’t wait to see you, catch up and gear up for all that God has in store for us in 2010!

Hey guys! Interested in helping a family this Christmas? Here’s your chance. We need your help gathering presents for an underprivileged family. There are 8 kids (wow!) ranging from ages 2-17. We know there are 6 girls and 2 boys, but we aren’t sure which ages are which (we’ll find out). BUT there are some gifts that you can donate anyway. Here are some suggestions:

Gifts cards
Scarves
Winter Hats
Gloves
Socks
Playdough
Board/Cards Games
Art supplies
Gently used stuffed animals
CDs/DVDs
School supplies (pencils, pens, markers, crayons, notebooks)
Girl toys (dolls, fake jewelry, nail polish, bubbles, etc)
Boy toys (bouncy balls, action figures, building blocks, etc)

If you’d like, you can also write a Christmas card to the family or to one of the children. You can also donate money and we’ll go shopping for you. Drop of your UNWRAPPED presents to Jon, Shawn, or Katie anytime before Dec 21. Thanks for helping us make this family’s Christmas special!

Hey guys! I’m sorry to announce this, but we had to cancel the PSM Paintball Challenge tomorrow because of weather. Go ahead, shake your fists in anger that you won’t get to crawl in the mud and hide in the bushes.

Save your paint for another day, because hopefully we’ll get this rescheduled for another weekend. But we love you and we’ll see you Sunday!
